R. Mac Prout was born in Torrance, California on September 11, 1956 and admitted to California Bar in 1981. He was educated at Pepperdine University (B.A., 1978 Cum Laude, J.D., 1981). Mr. Prout is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates; Sacramento County Bar Association; Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is admitted to the United States District Court, Eastern and Northern Districts; United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth District and the Supreme Court of the United States. MICHAEL J. LEVANGIE

Michael J. LeVangie was born in Milton, Massachusetts on January 22, 1965 and admitted to the California Bar and the United States District Court, Eastern and Northern Districts of California in 1992 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth District and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1997. He was educated at The University of Tulsa, San Francisco State University (B.A. 1988) and the Golden Gate University School of Law (J.D. 1992, LL.M (International Studies) with honors 1995). Mr. LeVangie is a recipient of the Grotius Award for Excellence in International Law (1995); the Economist International Oralist Award (1996) and the AJS Negotiation and Counseling Award (2000). Mr. LeVangie is a member of the Center for International Dispute Resolution (President, 1994-1997) the Defense Research Institute, CAHSA and the AMA. His areas of specialty include extended care facility defense, professional liability, motor sport and leisure liability, products liability, complex construction defect litigation, and corporate governance.

SHARON B. FUTERMAN

Sharon B. Futerman is a graduate of Boston University (cum laude, 1981) and Washington University School of Law (J.D. 1984). She was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1984, and to the State Bar of California, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth District, in 1986. Ms. Futerman’s practice focuses on defending clients in employment matters, professional liability actions and civil rights, including ADA cases. She also devotes a substantial portion of her practice to insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Futerman is a frequent lecturer on insurance coverage and civil litigation topics.

BRYAN L. MALONE

Bryan L. Malone is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno (B.S. 1986) and Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D. Cum Laude 1989), and was admitted to the California Bar, U.S. District Court (Central, Eastern and Northern Districts) and U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit in 1989. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, DRI, and the Sacramento County Bar Association. Mr. Malone’s areas of emphasis include medical/dental malpractice and other professional liability, premises liability, including entertainment venues, and products liability. Mr. Malone also advises and represents health care providers in both administrative actions and civil litigation.

JOHN W. “JACK’ BEEBE

John W. “Jack” Beebe is a graduate of the University of Utah (B.A. 1987) and Willamette University College of Law (J.D. 1990). He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar and all the state and Federal courts of Oregon in 1991, and to the State Bar of California, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth District, in 1996. Mr. Beebe has successfully tried cases to juries in a variety of claims contexts, including catastrophic personal injury and property damage actions, contract and real estate disputes, employment claims, bankruptcy-related issues and disputes, and continues his very active trial practice in defense of businesses, employers, health care providers, schools and non-profit organizations.

MICHAEL J. BAYTOSH

Michael J. Baytosh is an honors graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UOP McGeorge School of Law. He was admitted to the California Bar and the U.S. District and all state appellate courts in 1994, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and U.S. Supreme Court in 2000. Mr. Baytosh’s active trial practice emphasizes labor and employment practices, healthcare, government/public entity and professional liability defense. He is engaged as an arbitrator and mediator throughout California, serving as judge pro tem in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer and Yolo counties. He speaks regularly on employment, healthcare and public entity litigation issues.

Anna Niemann was born on October 13, 1950 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1993 and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District in 1994. Ms. Niemann was educated at the University of California, San Diego (B.A. 1973) and Lincoln School of Law, Sacramento (J.D. 1992).
